Get Naked With Joy

Naked

Return to what is real.

Before the shame. Before the conditioning. Before the performance. There is a body that knows exactly who it is. This work is about finding your way back to that body.

The Work

Body Liberation as Living Practice

01

The Practice

For nearly a decade, Joy has been in a quiet, ongoing practice of self-witnessing, photographing herself unclothed in nature. Not for display. Not for performance. Not to become anything.

But to remain.

To stand in front of her own gaze without turning away. To meet herself in changing light, changing seasons, changing states of being. To let the body exist without interference.

Each image is not something taken, but something allowed. A moment where the body is not managed, posed, or corrected. Where the environment is real, the experience is real, and nothing is added to make it more acceptable.

Over time, the practice dissolves the distance between how you think you look and how you actually are.

What remains is something quieter. More honest. Unfiltered.

02

The Philosophy

This is not about confidence in the way it is often taught.

It is not about learning to love yourself on command. Or arriving at a fixed state of acceptance.

It is about removing the conditions.

The ones that say: you must look a certain way you must feel a certain way you must become something before you are allowed to exist fully

Body liberation, in this context, is not an achievement.

It is a subtraction.

A releasing of what was never yours to carry. A return to a state where the body is not being evaluated, improved, or negotiated.

There is no performance here. No hierarchy. No ideal.

Only presence.

And in that presence, something equalizes.

The Invitation

Get Naked With Joy is not a program. It is not something you join.

It is a body of work. A lived practice. A reflection of what becomes possible when you stop leaving yourself.

It asks, without forcing an answer:

What would it be like to see yourself… and stay?

Not fix. Not adjust. Not turn away.

Just remain.

To witness your own body as part of the landscape of your life, rather than something separate from it.

There is no requirement to do what Joy has done.

Only an invitation to notice where you disappear… and what might happen if, even for a moment,

you didn't.

Stay.

"
I didn't photograph myself to prove anything. I did it because I needed to witness myself, to practice being seen without flinching. Four years in, I am still learning.

The Get Naked Archive

A Decade of Witnessing

Over nearly a decade, Joy has created an extensive body of self-portrait work exploring presence, form, and the natural relationship between body and environment. This archive now includes over 5,000 original images, each one a lived moment, captured without direction or performance.

These photographs are natural, unposed, and grounded in real experience. They are free from artificial enhancement and free from explicit intention. They are simply what was present.

For the first time, a limited and hand-curated selection of this work is being made available, quietly, and only to those who feel a genuine resonance with it. Individual images and selective archive access may be offered to the right person, at Joy's sole discretion.

All requests are made directly to Joy. There is no storefront, no catalogue, no intermediary. If something here calls to you, you are invited to reach out personally.
